Penguinz0 Gives His Brutal Take on CoD: Vanguard Beta

They really looked at the last few years of Call of Duty and decided what it needed was to be even faster and more chaotic. I jumped into the Call of Duty: Vanguard beta expecting some jank, but I wasn't prepared for this level of unadulterated nonsense. The time-to-kill is so fast you basically just blink and you're dead. There's a shotgun that feels like it has the range of a sniper rifle, and every lobby is just a hurricane of slide-canceling sweats using it. It's less of a tactical shooter and more of a contest to see who can exploit the most broken mechanic first. The spawn system is genuinely one for the history books. I'm not exaggerating when I say I spawned directly in front of an enemy who was already shooting. It was like the game decided my existence was an error and corrected it immediately. You'll see me just completely lose it after the fifth time I'm put on the map only to be sent back to the menu a nanosecond later. The maps themselves feel like a maze designed by a hamster on meth, with a thousand different sightlines and flanking routes. As penguinz0, I've seen some bad maps, but this is a whole new dimension of awful. Honestly, playing this beta was an experience. Sledgehammer Games has some serious work to do before that November 5th release date, because right now it's a buggy, unbalanced mess. It has moments of fun, but they're buried under a mountain of frustration. You can see the exact moment my soul leaves my body when I get killed by a grenade that phased through a wall. This whole playthrough from moistcr1tikal is just a testament to the absolute chaos that is a pre-release CoD game. It's a disaster, but it's a pretty entertaining one to watch unfold.
